Hi Ramgopal,

In our online lessons on the rules of Table Tennis, we detail the exact measurements of a Table Tennis table. Here is an excerpt:

  • The surface of the table, known as the playing surface, is rectangular, 2.74m (9ft) long and 1.525m (5ft) wide, and lies in a horizontal plane 76cm (2ft 6in) from the floor. The playing surface does not include the sides of the tabletop.

As for making a table, I have never attempted this and cannot offer any help in the matter. If any of our readers have made a table, we'd love to hear any tips you have on the matter.
