Hey Pingskills, I find that somethings I do when playing tend to be on a subconscious level, and I was wondering how much aware you should be and actively be thinking during a game and what you can let your subconsciousness handle.

Hi Robin,

Ultimately it is best to let your subconscious take over in a match.  It is difficult to change technique in a match.  Ideally you want to let your body take over and focus on tactics rather than thinking about how to play strokes.

In fact at an even higher level it is desirable to allow your body or subconscious even work through tactics for you.

Thanks for the reply!  I guess when you've played for a very long time the Right tactics just feel natural and come naturally, so what exactly are the pro players thinking of during a game if most of it is subconscious acting?

Mostly they are focusing on tactics for the next point.  Some of them would spend their time just focusing on remaining relaxed.
