Hi Alois,

I am going to my first training session for a table tennis club on Wednesday and I am very exited. However, I have one problem.

I have been using the pen-hold grip for a while now and I am not sure on whether I want to transfer to the shakehand grip. Should I start from scratch? Will my club allow me to continue with the same style?

I’m very confused and hope you can give me some guidance.

Hi Kabeer,

Don't worry too much.  Just relax and enjoy your experience at the club.  I would start with the penholder grip because you will be more comfortable.. Then you can ask players there if you think it would be better to change.
