Strategy
Respected Coach,
I am currently struggling against a player who can chop and attack well. After the serve or return, he simply chops the ball and puts lots of backspin on the ball. Then I am only able to push the ball high above the net or otherwise the ball would go straight in the net. He, then, easily plays an attacking topspin shot and snatches the point off me. Please give me any suggestions or advices to cope with this issue. Moreover, kindly give me some tips to improve my topspin attacking shot against heavy backspin. I hope you would respond to my question.
Regards,
Osama.
Hi Osama,
I think the stroke you need to work a lot on is the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin. This is a crucial stroke when playing choppers. If you can start to use this the whole game will change. You will start to be able to take the initiative in the rallies rather than just waiting for him to make the attack.
