If I am playing against a short pips defender, do I have to brush the ball with topspin or can I just smash the ball?

Hi Zach,

You still need to brush the ball because you opponent can generate spin with the short pimples.  They can't generate as much as with an inverted rubber but you still need to be aware of spin.

Use the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin as your main weapon.
