Hi,

I am a very impatient player and often I find myself in a situation where i try to smash spins. I am an OK smasher and in fact the best in my school at that. Right now, i am trying to overcome the spins and i heard from sources that it is best to spin a spin back. my bat is not the best and it is designed for power more than anything so I have trouble hitting the spin back. Please help me out. and please link me to one of your lessons on how to spin(coz i think ping skills are the best at teaching online).

THANKS!!!

Hi Hunter,

I am glad that you are enjoying the lessons so much.

The most important thing is to understand what is happening to the ball first and then the reaction off your bat.

For now watch what happens when the ball hits your racket and then try to counter that spin by changing the angle of your racket.  Do not try to do too much but just use the angle to get it back.

We do have lessons on these aspects in our Premium lessons.  Learning To Spin in our Serving Secrets lessons and Understanding SpinReading Spin and Receiving Principles in our Receiving Secrets lessons.

Backhand Tomahawk Serve

In this lesson we show you how to execute the Backhand Tomahawk serve. This is a good complement to the Tomahawk serve. By utilising a similar action, it will make it difficult for your opponent to tell which way the ball and spin are going.
