Alois and Jeff,

You always seem to get questions about generating spin on serves. You have a video about spinning the ball using backspin to make the ball come back along the floor. Are there other exercises people can do to try and develop the right contact to generate spin - is there one for top spin etc. Just thought for those people who still have not got back to playing it might be helpful.

A suggestion for the podcast - how about challenge of the week. Set us a challenge or trick shot to learn.

Keep up the good work and I'm waiting for big bat v bat with a hole in it!

Hi Nigel,

I like the idea of "Challenge of the Week".  This is something we have actually filmed and will release shortly.

For generating topspin you can rig up a few contraptions that could help.  One is to just put a wire through a ball and then hit the ball trying to get it to spin forward.  You can also do this with a disc like we show you in the Learning To Spin.  I have also seen a wheel attached to an axle that allows you to hit the wheel and spin it forward with your bat to get the feel of brushing the ball for the topspin.

I think the Big Bat might have an advantage against the "Hole" bat.  I would have to give the "Hole" bat to Jeff to have any chance...
