Hi Hari,

The most basic way to increase the speed of your forehand topspin is to increase the speed of your racket. You can do this by moving your arm faster, twisting at your waist and using your legs to generate power.

The other thing to consider is the amount of spin you put on the ball. If you put a lot of spin on the ball it will have less speed than if you hit the ball flat using the same swing. Therefore it can be a compromise between a really spinny contact and a flat contact. You generate more spin by brushing the ball finely when you make contact with it. The flatter contact is made by literally hitting the ball flat with your racket.

If the ball is really high then you can smash the ball using a very flat contact and hit it very hard. As the ball gets lower and lower you need to generate the topspin to make the ball dip. Without the topspin causing the ball to dip on these lower balls, you won't be able to hit the ball fast and still make it land on the table
