Smash placement

Strokes

Most of the time when I play others we dont have too much space between the end of the table and the wall. Maybe 7 feet. When I smash I normally try to go deep to their backhand or towards their elbow. If it is a short lob then I smash short to make it bounce fairly high so they cant really do anything with it.r

For this playing area is there any other recommended areas to smash the ball? What about area that have about 12 feet minimum of back space to play against smashes, where are the prime areas to place those smashes?

Hi Paul,

Just hitting the ball fast will mean they won't have enough time to react.

The other thing to remember is that you don't have to hit a winner with the first smash as long as you keep the other payer on the defensive and then wait for a shorter ball that you can hit harder.
