Hello, i don't know how to smash correctly because often the balls come with topspin or sidespin and i fail the smash. So i want to know how to smash when the ball come with spin and it moves of place. What i have to do? Anticipate the opponent spin?

Hi Mateo,

This can be tricky to make a smash against a spinning ball.

First make sure you are watching the contact on the ball by your opponent.  See if you can work out from this which way the ball is going to spin.  It can only move one way after it bounces.

The next thing is to remain balanced and mobile while the ball is in the air.  This will allow you to move to the ball and make good position when the ball bounces sideways.

Then make a fast flat contact on the ball.  The sidespin won't really effect the direction of your smash if you hit the ball fast.

If the lob has some topspin, again watch the ball and make sure you move back away from the table to allow for the kick on the ball with the topspin. It will force you away from the table.
