Hi Coach,

I find it difficult to smash a ball that rises high above me.  Please enlighten me on the foot work required and on  the timing of the smash.  I have seen players kinda jumping while smashing such a high ball.  Looking forward to your response.  Cheers..

Hi Jagadish,

The best way to deal with this type of ball is to wait till it comes down to shoulder or head height and then smash it.  Jumping can be done but it is also more risky.  By waiting for the ball to drop into the hitting zone you will get a more reliable smash.  Take a look at our lesson on the Forehand Smash.
