hi coach,

so I got a new rubber but just during my last practice session, there`s this accident where my rubber hit the racket of my other teammate which created a small rip in the rubber. what do u think should I do because this rubber is just new and I still don`t have enough money to buy me another rubber as replacement. thanks in advance!

Hi,

It certainly is frustrating when a new rubber gets damaged. It really depends where the rip is. If it is on the edge of the rubber and the ball very rarely hits the damaged area then you can keep playing with it. If the rip is where the ball hits all the time and is affecting your play, you probably need to replace it.

From what you describe, it sounds like it won't be a problem. I'd suggest keep using it unless you find it is affecting your play.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
