Hi Maaz,

An intermediate player should have an understanding of spin and should have decent technique on the basic strokes.

There are a couple of areas where I see players make a big jump in their level. Developing a good backhand topspin makes a big difference. Improving your short game is absolutely critical. A really good backhand block is also another feature of good players. Serving and receiving is another area where small improvements can make a big difference to your overall game.

Hi Maaz,

It sounds like you could call yourself an intermediate player. I wouldn't worry too much about these terms though. The best way to gauge your standard is to join a club and play a lot of matches with other players.

It is great that you play at your school.  You can call that a club because you are getting a chance to play against other players.  The main thing is to try to play as much as possible and try to train correctly.  Make sure you have a purpose to each training session and work on your skills, rather than just playing games.
