Hi coach,

I've switched from joola express one to donic coppa jo gold hard (now i play backhand with joola express one) and realised I couldn't brush the ball as effectively as I used to with joola express. This happens when i close the angle of my bat, when i open the racket i can perform a loop but too high for a topspin. I just wanted to know is there a particular change of action or skill for hard rubbers?

Hi Utkarsh,

Usually with harder rubbers you need to brush over the ball more to generate the spin.  With this though, you need more racket head speed to get the ball to go forward and lift enough over the net.

Hi Alois,

so for a beginner would you rather suggest a soft rubber?

I think so.  I think it is more forgiving.

Yeah i can generate a good speed. So the problem was where i contacted the ball made the difference.

I also have one more ques to ask. Most of the time when i perform the backhand topspin i can't face the return very efficiently with my backhand as i realise my wrist just locks after performing bqckhand topspin. Can u suggest something on this issue.

Thank you
