Hi alois and Jeff, Greetings from Colombia.

A thing i consider good about my game is that i have a lot of diferent services in my game (obviously some betters than others), but i recently found a serve that is giving me headchaches. Is the short Topspin. I want to serve short with Top but i never make the ball bounce twice on the table when i give topspin to it.

What should i do??

Thanks for answering... ;)

Hi Julio,

This is a difficult thing to do.  You need to get the first bounce on your side of the table really close to you.  Next you need to get the ball to just skim over the net.  Then by getting a lot of topspin, you will get the ball to dip quickly to give it the best chance to get it short.

Put a small target on the other side of the table about 30cm from the net and see if you can hit it.

it will take a lot of practice to get it right.

Hi alois,

My problem is that I can't get the ball over the net. If I brush harder there will be more spin but the ball goes long, but when I brush softer I will get less spin and the ball will stay on my side of the table. I served the ball and the first bounce is really close to me but just can get to contact and the right and keep the ball short over the net.

Is it my rubber? My rubber still has grip on it.But I feel like the ball just drop when I brush it up

Hi Eugene,

It won’t be the rubber.  It is a fine skill and getting the bounce just right will take time.
