Hi Martin,

I usually use the normal pendulum serve which swings away from my body.

To get more accurate I like to use targets on the table.  This sounds simple and is simple as a concept of improving your accuracy.  Make sure the contact is flat at first to get the length of the serve.  Get the ball to bounce very close to you on your side of the table.

If the ball is going to the left aim more to the right.  Simple eh?

For a short serve you can also use a target.  Get the ball to bounce about 20cm in from your side of the table.  Contact the ball with a brushing contact.  If you hit it too flat the ball will go longer.
