Hi, i was wondering the best moment to return short a short serve, on both BH and FH: Direct after table contact, at the top of the rebound, something else ? Is it also convenient to have the blade with a 90degrees forearm/wrist angle during the touch or should it be more straight (like fencing for ex) ? thanks in advance sebastien

Hi Sebastien,

I find it easiest straight off the bounce.  At this point the ball is a lot closer to the net.

You need to have a very relaxed wrist and hand to absorb the speed and spin.  Also you don't need a lot of forward movement with your hand.  Almost just let the ball rebound off the bat.  The wrist position the you talk about is very important.  Get it at 90 degrees to have the bat facing the net.
