Can you make a lesson using Short Pips?
Hi Farcas,
We will be making a lesson on this as part of our Match Strategy Course in our Premium lessons so watch out for it.
The basis for using short pimples is that you can generate good speed but not as much spin as with inverted rubber. It is good for close to the table fast play.
The strokes are quite similar but you can hit more forward on the ball. You also need to make sure you are getting the ball near the top of the bounce for best effect because you are not generating as much topspin so your margin for error is less.
Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
