Hello

I'm having problems with the " hook serve ",I think this serve creates side spin or reverse spin .I know this serve is quite hard and it's kinda " unofficial " serve, I couldn't watch any pros do this serve in any training video clips. The problem is I can't do it short or double bounce so every time I serve, my opponent loops the serve, I want to play short game. Please help me !

 Many thanks,

Lan.

Hi Lan,

Our Serving DVD, Serving Secrets Revealed will help you with generating spin and placement with your serve.

To generate spin you need to practice the contact of the bat on the ball.  it needs to be a brushing contact to make the ball start to spin around.  It is like turning a wheel with your bat.  To generate more spin you will need to develop hte speed of contact.

The best way to improve your serve to get it short is to put a small target on the table.  Serve and aim at this target.  Do not focus too much on your technique, just aimfor the target.  Try to get th eball to skid off the target rather than lob onto the target.  The target shouyld be about 30 cm from the net.  Satrt by placin git on the middle line.

Get yourself a copy of the DVD.  I am sure it will help you with a whole variety of serves.
