hello coaches

i know that every ittf player has a unique serve, but is there a thing ex: wang liqin serve is better than chen qi's serve?but just asking which serve do you recomend cuz, i cant choose on the both of them as my primary serve?

i saw wang's serve, i observe when serves he does a flip at the end.  what does the fliping benefits wang ? and if he hits the ball during the fliping wat spin does it generates?

thank you

Hi Judah,

Yes players do have some distinctive serves.  It is usually their swing.  They often get a similar result with the contact.

Just look at the players and see which type of swing you like and see if you can imitate it.

Wang's flip at the end of his swing that he does sometimes is just a distraction to make it harder to see how he is contacting the ball.  He doesn't often hit it at the end.  If he did it would have the reverse spin curving from right to left.

The Float Serve

The float or no spin serve is an effective tool to have in your bag of serves. It adds good variation to your serves and can often set you up with an easy 3rd ball opportunity.
