Hi,

I need some advice on the manner that i can serve optimally when i play doubles. Why is it always difficult to serve a short double bounce service when playing a doubles game?

Hi Wong,

This is difficult because the ball often bounces off the side of the table.  Try to serve more to the middle of the table from closer to your own middle line.  This will take some practice, like everything else.

Also try to serve a spin that is curving more left to right so that it curls towards the middle line rather than off the side of the table.

The Float Serve

The float or no spin serve is an effective tool to have in your bag of serves. It adds good variation to your serves and can often set you up with an easy 3rd ball opportunity.
