How far from the net a ball can go to be considered a good serve on a short serve......also if the ball goes short just over the net hit the table and goes off the corner, is that considered a illegal shot

Hi Margo,

To be short we usually talk about it bouncing twice on the opponents side of the table if it were left to bounce.

It is allowed to go off the corner of the table.

Thank you so very much Alois, I have a very good short serve that's working for me, but the people I play against tried to tell me it was illegal, I can pass this information on. Thanks again

No problems.

In Wheelchair Table Tennis, the ball is not allowed to go off the side of the table or be so short that it returns towards the net.  However in standing Table Tennis there are no restrictions.
