Serving
I have tried a pure backspin service and a penduluum service to generate backspin, but it doesn't seem heavy enough? How can i land it short? I also have difficulties landing it short. I have used the turning of my waist, and the shifting of the body weight from the right to left knee, to add more power. But the spin and shortness of the service is still insufficient.
Hi Paul,
To get more backspin, tilt your back further back. This will help you to generate more spin.
Move off the table to practice this. Find a bit of floor that you can work on and see if you can get the ball to one back to you. Relax your wrist and focus on the contact of the ball.
Once you can get the ball to one back to you, move to the table and give it a try. I usually find it takes a few transitions between the table and the floor to get the feeling right.
