Hi Alois and Jeff,

I have a problem with my serve. Yesterday I played with my dad. When I served, he always flicked it. How I could counter that? Should I play with the long serve?

Hi Archel,

If your opponent has a good flick firstly try to generate more backspin on the serve.  This makes it more difficult to flick the ball.  If they are still able to flick the serve then you can think about serving longer.  It doesn't have to be long, it could be just a little longer or to ta different place that will make the return more difficult.  Sometimes a player can flick well off a really short ball because it is so close to the net.  If you put the ball a little further away it makes it harder.
