Serving
Dear PingSkills,
I noticed when I do a forehand serve, it is harder for me to keep the ball low and short compared to a backhand serve. Is it naturally harder to do a low and short forehand serve than backhand serve or is it just a matter of practice?
Regards,
Kenneth
Hi Kenneth,
It is probably just the height you are hitting the ball at when you are doing the forehand serve. Try hitting the ball a fraction later when the ball is lower. This will lead to a lower serve.
The other thing to do is to focus on the result which is getting the ball low. You can set up a strong across the net like we do in this tutorial on Keeping The Ball Low. It is a simple set up which will help you.
