Serving in doubles

Could you outline some of the considerations that are different when serving in doubles than in singles?  I'm a right hander.

Hi Douglas,

You can think about serving more to the middle so that it doesn't go off the side of the table.  If it goes off the side it can be attacked.

Secondly think about keeping the ball short with your serve. Because the receiver only has to look after half the table you should make sure it is short otherwise it is too easy to attack.

Thank you.  I've watched your DVDs on serving and receiving serves and you emphasize learning a variety of placements, speeds and spins.  My impression is that there is much less scope for variation in doubles serving.  Plus the social/emotional aspect that if your serve gets you clobbered that's one thing, but if it gets your partner clobbered there could be some muttering.
