hi Alois,

i'm having difficulties in trying to vary the ball in the pendulum serve. i'm already pretty good at the sidespin stuff but i'm having trouble in the backspin and topspin action! Please can you help me in the action and angle of the bat. I would be EXTREMELY grateful!

P.S are your dvds available in Pakistan?

yours sincerely,

Basel

Hi Basel,

It can be tricky to get the backspin and topspin variations right.

If you think about the pendulum coming down and then going up you will start to get the idea. If you hit the ball when the pendulum is swinging downwards, the bat will contact the ball in a downward brushing action.  This will give it backspin.  If you contact the ball when the bat is on the upward swing, so later in the swing, you will get topspin.  The later contact is often difficult to imagine but try to simplify it to the upward action and contact and you will get it.

Our DVDs are available for postage to Pakistan.  We post them to anywhere in the world.
