Receiving
Hi,
I have trouble returning what appears to be a backspin-sidespin combination serve but my return flies out when i use the push even with what seems to be the minimum of force? How do I handle this?

Hi Shashank,
You need to allow for the spin on the ball. If it has backspin then you need to allow for the backspin by angling your bat upward. For the sidespin see which way the spin is going and then angle your bat in the opposite direction.
We have a whole series of lessons on how to return serves on our Receiving Secrets lessons.
In doubles you are standing in a different position and the ball is coming to you at a different angle than it would in singles. We show you how to adjust and make an effective return in doubles.

Thanks Alois, Are there some specific videos you want to identify to address this issue? A related query is "what causes the ball to fly off when I use backspin on the return" I mean is it caused by specific type of spin service?
Hi Shashank,
I think it would be good to work your way right through the Receiving Secrets lessons.
If there ifs heavy spin in any direction it will come off your rubber quickly and in a direction that you are not expecting.
