Service above the table level

Hey Pingskills I have a question about service. When I toss the ball is it allowed to drop past the table before I hit it or do I have to hit it while it's above the table

Hi Bryan,

The ball has to be hit before it goes below the level of the table.  Here is the relevant rule.

2.06.04  From the start of service until it is struck, the ball shall be above the level of the playing surface and behind the server's end line
