Hi Alois and Jeff,

I want to ask something regarding the match strategy against players using short and long pimples. What kind of spin will be returned to me If I doing a no spin serve against pip players?

Usually I can handle pip players in a short rallies but the as the rallies go longer, I have difficulty in judging the amount of spin generated on the ball. I also have tried to push the ball to reduce its backspin effect but I still can't read the spin consistently. I hope you guys can give some insight fo me.

Thanks

Hi Fesih,

Take a look through our videos in our Different Rubbers

section.  In there you will find videos on Playing Against Long Pimples and Playing Against Short Pimples.

Short pimples will flatten out the spin on the ball whereas Long Pimples will reverse the spin on the ball.  The main thing to remember is to try and find as many opportunities to play against these types of rubbers as you can.
