I think if you can try the change to the sgakehand grip and see how it feels. It will take some time to adjust properly to the grip especially during competition. If you are seeing the weaknesses of the Seemiller grip then maybe it is worth the experiment.
The Seemileer grip is limited in the use of the wrist on the backhand. The advantage is thst it gets rid of the crossover point between foreahnd and backhand.
See how the change feels. The worst that could happen is that you go back to the Seemiller grip and then you haven't lost much at all.
