I'm looking to buy new rubbers having played for quite a while with Palio CJ8000 but would like to enhance my attacking play which is improving. I tend to play close to the table, have a strong backhand especially punch drives, mix attack and defence and like to disrupt opponents' rhythm with plenty of blocks, drop shots and flicks. I don't tend to loop or use heavy topspin or long range chops. I would welcome any suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Chris,

It’s great to hear about your progress and your interest in enhancing your attacking play. Based on your style and preferences, you'll want a rubber that supports close-to-the-table attacks, provides good control for blocking and flicks, and still allows for disruptive shots. Since you are currently using Palio CJ8000, which is known for its control and all-round capabilities, moving to a rubber that offers a bit more speed and spin while still maintaining control would be ideal. Here are a few suggestions:

We use Yasaka Rakza 7 which will give you a little more speed.  I think this is has a good balance of spin and speed.

When choosing your next rubbers, consider not only the offensive capabilities but also how well they can support your defensive and disruptive plays.

It might also be helpful to consult with a coach or a more experienced player who can watch your playing style and offer personalised advice based on how you handle different situations in a match.
