Hey coaches, Ma Long's fh stroke has a lot of body rotation, swing and follow through in his fh stroke however when i took a video on mine, there isn't seem to be much of that resulting in an unatural stroke.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKNKQpooR6Q&feature=player_embedded#! (my fh loop at 1.16)

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKNKQpooR6Q&feature=player_embedded#!( ma long's loop at 0.35)

Also, i felt that i wasn't bending down enough so i couldn't consistently play my fh strokes. Anyway to improve on these things?

 Thanks

Hi Jack,

The rotation is an added element to the stroke that you do once you have the basics.

Start by practicing your stroke slowly with rotation and then gradually speed up the stroke until you are at full speed.  Just let the body rotate back and forth with your swing.  Just make it an extension of your swing.

The difficult part is getting back for the next ball once you have made the rotation.   Give it a try and see if it works for you.

Anticipation

How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.
