Training
Alois, Thank you for answering my questions about rebound boards. You mentioned pursuing a robot as an alternative. Do you have a recommendation for an intermediate level player as myself? Many are quite expensive & don't want to tie up $ when it is not necessary. Did see an inexpensive model called Robo-Pong 540. Is it something that might do the job? Thanks for your response.
Hi James,
I am no expert on robots but I will put it out there to see if our readers can help out.
The Robo-Pong 540 looks like s simple model without too many gadgets. It will be good for training single strokes. It can also do a variety of spins from the basics topspin and backspin as well as sidespin and variations. Sounds like it could be a good fit.
Question actions
One thing you can be sure of is that every top player will be able to keep the ball on the table with a solid block when under pressure. It seems that this is a pre-requisite to becoming a good player. That's why in this training session we focus on improving your block. If you can absorb your opponent's attack you will be in a good position to win a match against them.
