These past months, I've been wondering. I've been wondering if it was possible to change from my dominant hand (Right) to my Left Hand. It's because 6 years ago, my elbow was fractured and was replaced with a metal to connect my arm. I've been really thinking about going left handed.

  • How do I become Left Handed? Do I need to exchange my brain lobes?
  • How will this affect my career playing Table Tennis?
  • Is it a good idea to switch to left handed?
  • What are the benefits of being left handed?
  • Will I be able to match the power of people who use their domanant hand?

Hi Charlie,

You can certainly change but don't expect to become as proficient as you were with your dominant hand.

If you change think of it as a new game not playing the same game with a different hand.  This may help when you are losing to players you may have normally beaten.

I think it would be an interesting experiment, but my feeling is that it will be really difficult to get to the same level.
