Think about the angle of your racket and the angle the ball was going when you hit it.
You then need to alter the angle of your racket to allow the ball to go on. The other option is to move right over and use your backhand which may put your bat at a better natural angle to return the Tomahawk serve. If they are right handed then you want to bat to face the bat to the right which is the direction your backhand faces.
