Hey, my name is Eddy.

I have an issue with topspin return. If I push or chop to far on the table, opponent then is topspinning the ball with their F or B hand.

Then I dont know what to do? I start retreat from the table into defensive and do a heavy chop or just try to keep the ball on the table. But I dont want to do that. Is there any good way of returning the ball so my next shot is a counter topspin.?

Thanks

Hi Eddy,

You should try to use the Backhand Block stroke.  This is a simple way of dealing with a topspin stroke.  The first thing though is to make sure that after you push the ball long that you don't move back.  Follow your push with your eyes and stay close to the table and balanced in your Basic Stance.  This will put you in a much better position in the rally.
