Hello once again!

I wonder if it is a good idea to remove the rubber from a pre made bat and use the blade as a custom blade? Why/why not?

Hi Tam,

This will depend on the quality of the blade.  It is worth giving it a try because I have found that a lot of them are good enough quality to replace the rubber with a better quality rubber.  They make a good control bat that you can advance your game with.

Thanks for the answer! Do you think that the blade of the Stiga Crystal Advance will do the job?

I haven't felt one.  I have seen pictures but it is hard to tell. If someone has one they may be able to tell us.

hi Alios,

i have stag ninja fire ,one side rubber of my bat is getting torn , so  i can afford to paste mark V on that side.

But do you think old rubber will not damage the bat while removing?

You can try to peel the old rubber off.  If it is difficult, use a solvent and then use some sand paper to remove the rest.  If you are careful you will be able to get the sponge off the wood.

thankyou alios,

But can you suggest any solvent to remove rubber safely?

Acetone is good or Mineral Turpentine.

I know this is late but... you could use the old rubber as sandpaper, it gets heated but it's gentle on the wood :)

Hi Alois

Is the blade too important or is the rubber?  Which is more important if you give a percentage?

It is more about the rubber... maybe 70% or 80% rubber.

Really I though it was the blade
