Removing rubber & sponge from pre-assembled paddle

I've been using Donic 6000, pre-assembled penhold paddle for the last 5 years.

Last week I bought a Tenergy rubber for my one side.

I'm really struggling to take out the old rubber & sponge from the paddle. Please advise what I need to use to take out them.

Some people told, need to use some solvent. Not sure, what I need to buy. I cannot wait to use my new Tenergy to glue in.

I appreciate your response with it.

Hi Praba,

To remove old rubber you can use something like an alcohol rub.  We use Mineral turpentine or Methylated spirits.  This softens the sponge and makes it easier to remove.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
