hello! i'm a new premium member here and i got a question about backspin serve.

Currently i have no real backspin serve but like 4-5 side spin serve i use TSP SWAT as blade and Tenergy 64 on my forehand and spinlord long pimple on my backhand. I am an offensive player using mainly my backhand to prepare for a forehand attack, i am divison 3/klass 3 in Sweden but i need a far stronger backspin safe serve cuz atm my opponents can attack/flip on my forehand which they often do but i win mainly points there (somehow).

Anyway towards my question: would you recommend i change rubber from Tenergy to get a better serve?

Hi Emil,

Stay with the Tenergy.  That will not be the problem.

The issue will be the contact you are getting on the ball.  Focus on tilting your bat more backwards.  Go to a ridiculous level where you feel like your bat is facing the back wall and then try to get the backspin.  Do this away from a table.  Get the ball to bounce on the floor so that you can see the spin you are generating.  This will be a big step backwards on your serving but it is worth getting this contact correct first before moving on again.
