Recommended bat style for my style

I'm not asking for a specific bat recommendation because I know there are tons out there, but rather, can you tell me what type of bats I should be looking for based on my play style? (fast/slow, heavy/light, etc.) I play pretty offensively, I hit pretty hard with mostly topspin, and I use my backhand mostly to set up my harder forehand shots. I'm not good enough at knowing bats to know whether I should get a fast or slow bat or any other attributes based on my play style. Thanks.

Also, it's worth noting that I spent about an hour the other day playing with a pretty heavy bat (no idea what it was) and everything I hit with my normal amount of strength would go over the table. Is it the bat, or should I just get used to angling my bat more downward? Thanks again!

Hi Cory,

I would say go for a medium speed bat.  So an "Allround" blade.  Then put on a rubber like Mark V. WHat bat are you using at the moment and how long have you been playing?

Regarding the heavier bat, I think you do get used to things like that by changing the angle of your bat or stroke or speed of your stroke.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
