Hi coach,

In my club, there is a boy who always produces heavy cut. I know to receive the cut by playing it back softly, but when I play like that my opponent hits the ball very hard and I cannot block it. Please suggest me a method to receive his cuts effectively as well as make him play only push for the whole point.

Thank You

Hi Shravan,

Try to keep the ball short on his side of the table.  This requires some touch and feel for the ball.  Take the ball early on your side and use soft and relaxed hands to get the ball back.

This is something that requires a lot of training to be able to do effectively.
