Push off bounce

Strokes

I was told that when pushing backspin, I should try to guide the ball right after the bounce. Does this negate some of the backspin? Should I always look to return it before the peak of the bounce or is it a situational thing. Thanks!

Hi John,

When yo push the ball early off the bounce it gives your opponent less time.  I think it is a harder shot to play though because it is difficult to get the timing right off the bounce.

It's easier to wait until the ball has lost some more spin, though if you wait for too long you have a harder time passing the net because the ball is low
