Hi Alois

I had purchased a table tennis wooden board which can be placed on any table. I normally practise serves on this or fold it and place it against the wall and keep hitting the ball . The only problem I see is that overall the size of this board would be about 2/3 of an actual table tennis table.

Is it ok to keep practising on this or would it affect one's shots on an actual table. What type of excercises do you recommend practising on board like this.

Thanks Regards
Grenville

Hi Grenville,

This is a good alternative if you can't use a table and a partner to play.  Any hitting will build your coordination.

Take a look at our lesson on Practicing Alone for some good tips.

Strengths

Take some time to understand what are the key aspects of your game. You need to know how you win points and then develop those skills into a fierce weapon by focusing your training around them. Knowing your weaknesses is still important but Table Tennis is about winning points.
