Practicing without a table

hi guys

im pretty much a novice and ive only just picked up the sport, ive just got myself a bat of my own but was wondering if there were any effective practice/training routines that would help me improve without the need for a table as i cant really afford a table and im only playing for a few hours a week although im trying to join a club.

Any sort of bat ball routines would be useful.
