Training
Hi Alois.
I need some advise on practicing alone. I watched that video practicing alone but now I need to practice my power shots and chop could you please help.
best regards Thomas
Hi Thomas,
It is difficult to practice everything by yourself.
For the power shots you could drop the ball on the table yourself and then hit it fast. You would probably need quite a few balls to do this otherwise you will spend your whole time picking up balls.
Chop is harder again... Other may have some suggestions for you for this one.
What should you do when you get forced back from the table? Should you just close your eyes and try and smash the ball back? Should you lob the ball back and try and stay in the point? This week in our master class we discuss your options and when to use the lob, chop or counter attack.

practicing chop (not push) alone is quite easy, I think. just throw the ball to the wall, let it bounce once on the floor, then chop it to the wall, let it bounce, chop again, and again, and again....
you still need a partner tough, so you can practice chopping the faster ball (the ball tends to move slow when you practice the chop alone)
