Strokes
Hi alois and Jeff
How can I improve my forehand because I grew up playing on a small table tennis table so my backhand became very good but my forehand is very poor how can I improve.
Hi Ikrama,
The first thing is to practice your forehand technique. Also move your position at the table a little to the left so that it allows you to play more forehands at the table. You may also want to check you feet angle. Try to have your left foot slightly closer to the table than your right. Again this will make it easier to play some more forehands. In the game think about playing a forehand when it is in the forehand half of the table and only playing backhands when it is in the backhand half.
How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.
