How do you play against players with pimples? whenever i play them i end up either over lifting the ball hitting it out or hitting it in the net

Hi Laurence,

Since you are not making a common error it probably means that you just need more training against it.

One of the advantages a pimple player has is that you don't get to hit as many balls against it as you do against normal rubber.

If it is long pimples you should work on a combination of pushing and attacking.  If it is short pimples then work at playing with spin on both your push and topspin.  Short pimple players like the ball coming through fast and flat.  Playing with spin is harder for them to control.

It took me some time to realise my shots were going off the other side of the table but i figured it out the pimples will reverse the spin so my short backspin serve will come back as a float/topspin.My problem was that i was treating the pimples push as a normal rubber push and i was over lifting the ball. Thanks for your help
