hey,

i am having trouble playing against choppers. I play good if the game is going fast but once my opponent starts chopping, the game gets really slow and it becomes a pain for me to lift the ball over the net. I use my backhand 90%  of the time. If i am trying to use backhand topspin against backspin, what will my stroke look like? Or do i have to use forehand topspin? And what kinda rubber do i need? a rubber with a high throw angle? What about tacky rubbers?

Hi Shaheer,

Take a look at the blog I wrote recently on Playing against Defenders. I think this will answer a lot of your questions.

I find that using forehand topspin tends to be more reliable against chop.  Look at the two lessons, Forehand Topspin Against Backspin and Backhand Topspin Against Backspin.  This will help you with the strokes you need to use.

I find a rubber with a high throw and tacky rubbers are easier to play against backspin.
