Hi Coach Alois,

About a month ago or so, I played against a player who said he had two forehands. He was referring to the Danny Seemiller grip. He had anti-spin and smooth rubber.  I was at a lost on how to attack his style. It was the very first time playing a player who used this grip.

What are some good tactics I could use against a player who uses such a rare style?

Hi Mike,

It can be awkward the first time you play against a style like that.  It is a good style for blocking but not as good for attacking especially on the forehand side.

The main thing is to allow yourself time to adjust to a different style of play.  Try to work around to find ways to gain points and see how your game matches up to theirs.  See which of your serves are effective.  Often low backspin serve to the backhand can be good.
